This one has already happened. It stays here as part of the record — and because whoever ran it will very likely run another.

Welcome to Claude Fable 5.1 Build Day Cape Town! Fable 5.1 is here, and we're getting the Cape Town Claude community together for a morning of finding out how far it goes. Bring your laptop and an idea, and we'll build, break things and have some fun. Everything gets made in the room, so the only prep is to have Claude Code set up on your laptop before you arrive. Every attendee gets API credits from Anthropic to build on the new model, so the cost of trying something ambitious is zero. Who this is for: This session is aimed at developers and more technical product people. You'll need to have a basic grasp of the Claude Code Console and Terminal experience and be able to load up an API credit voucher via the console. Pick a track: Delight: Build something surprising, beautiful, or just plain fun. The bar: you couldn't have made it this good, this fast, before. Breakthrough: Build something that wasn't possible before. Take a problem the last model couldn't handle and see how far this one gets. Everyday: Build something that fixes a real annoyance in your actual life or work. Teams: Go solo or team up in groups of two to four. Teams are created on the day, nothing to arrange in advance. Agenda: 09:30 — Doors open, coffee, get your laptop and credits set up 10:00 — Kickoff: what's new in Fable 5.1, plus a few live demos 10:30 — Tracks explained, teams form 10:45 — Build time (a focused 90 minutes, pick your track and go) 12:15 — Demos: two minutes each 12:45 — Group photo, share your build, wrap up 13:00 — Close Bring: a laptop, a charger, and one problem you've been meaning to solve. Seats are limited, so grab yours early. If your plans change, please release your spot on Luma so someone else can build 🚀
