Terracult Farm: AI, Automation & Precision Agriculture in Romania
A farm with an integrated production chain, Terracult began its operations in 2009. With an investment of approximately 30 million euros, this is where one of the most advanced agricultural operations in Europe was established. From the most modern agricultural machinery to digitalized systems that guide the entire activity of the farm, continuously analyzing the workflow and the performance achieved in the field. No matter how much digitalization we have in agriculture, the field remains the place where everything begins. And in Arad County, every field is cultivated with respect for the soil, the essential resource for achieving high-performing harvests every year. The farm's sustainability is supported by intelligent management of soil moisture. Water resources are currently the greatest challenge, and despite Terracoolt's efforts, irrigation remains an area where private investments are limited because of administrative and political chaos. In the absence of investment in a solid irrigation infrastructure, Terracult Farm has limited access to water and has been forced to design a viable cropping plan, even under conditions of years with rainfall deficits. After harvest, the entire production is managed in a fully automated storage facility. Part of the farm's production is then sent to our own processing plant. From precision agriculture and artificial intelligence to processing and investments in irrigation, Terracult is an example of a farm that is constantly looking towards the future. In an agriculture increasingly dependent on technology and adaptation, performance no longer means only high yields, but also the ability to make the right decisions at the right time. And here in Horia, in western Romania, this is the strategy that ensures agricultural success year after year.
