You Don't Need an iPhone Duo to Build for It
Your iPhone Duo might not come until January, and you can still build and test apps for it right now. I'm getting my app SayRay ready for the App Store in the iPhone Duo simulator, and you can see it closed like a little pocket passport or standing on the table with the dock on either side. The Duo has a whole new convention where the stuff that used to be at the very top of your iPhone is now on the side, so that's something to design for. I shipped SayRay without ever opening Xcode, and Bitrig recently added CloudKit support, so now my app syncs between my Duo, my other phones and iPad. I think it's literally a blue ocean, and every single person is gonna ask to play with your iPhone Duo, so put your app out there even though you don't have a Duo. At the end I show some of the apps other builders already made, like Battlefleet Duo by Brian Corrieri. The iPhone Duo simulator in this video is in Bitrig. I reached out to Bitrig about a sponsorship, and Bitrig is helping cover events I'm part of, like the AiOS Meetup in San Francisco. Wispr Flow: https://rfer.me/wispr This is my referral link.
