Some people are paying over $200 a year just for transcription, and I'm building the same thing as a one time five dollar app that you keep forever. I tried to solve this problem myself as a YouTuber because I needed transcriptions done, and I spent so much time figuring it out and got it working really well and really fast, and back then all of that work had to go into servers to make it happen at scale. Local models are good enough now that the whole thing just runs on your device, so I'm taking everything I learned with local AI and putting it into an app, and it's one flat price, no subscription, yours forever, and you still get the updates.
