Stop Using DaVinci Resolve or PremierPro This Changed How I Edit (Walkthrough)

From the creator

Claude edited this entire video. The animations, the charts, the cuts and the sounds: Claude made all of it by writing code. Not an AI video generator, not an editor I paid. I turned the whole workflow into a Claude skill, it's free, and here's exactly how I use it in 3 steps 👇 🎁 Get the free editing skill in my Skool community: https://www.skool.com/nextphase-5790 🤔 Why now? Anthropic just dropped Sonnet 5.5, and people are saying it edits almost as well as Opus for half the price. The price part is real (per million tokens): Sonnet 5.5: $2 in, $10 out Opus 5.5: $4 in, $20 out Editing eats a lot of tokens because Claude writes every animation as code, so half price actually matters. Is it as good as Opus? Test it on one of your own videos before you believe anyone, including me. 💡 Claude isn't an AI video generator. It builds a little web page for every scene and turns it into an MP4, so every piece is editable. Don't like a color? Change it. With a video generator, you get what you get, and you pay again to try again. ✂️ Step 1: Cut Claude transcribes your video word by word, then cuts out the pauses, the ums and the takes you messed up. Say a line twice and it keeps the last one. ✅ Whisper: free, but it runs on your own computer, so it's slow ✅ AssemblyAI: about $0.21 per hour of audio, super fast, with free hours when you sign up 🎨 Step 2: Animate Tell Claude "animate my video" and you get the default look everybody has: same fonts, same gradients, same little icons. That's how AI slop happens. What you need is a design system, a rulebook for your style: your colors, your fonts, how much motion, how things come on screen. You don't need DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro for this. How I build mine: I give Claude a video I love. It uses FFmpeg (free) to grab frames and turns the colors, the layout and the timing into a design system. That's how I built all 8 of my editing styles. 🎬 Step 3: Direct Watch what Claude made like a director and give it notes. Then tell Claude to save your feedback into the skill, so the next video is already better. Every rule in my skill came from a note I gave once: no emojis on screen, every cut needs a sound, no random people as b-roll, show the real thing. ⚠️ Bonus tip: when your chat's context window hits about 40%, start a new chat. One video, one chat. Built with Claude Code and HyperFrames (a free, code-based alternative to Remotion). ⏱️ Chapters 0:00 What the big names are saying about AI 0:23 Claude edited this entire video 1:11 Why now: Sonnet 5.5 at half the price 2:07 Step 1: Cut 2:47 Step 2: Animate 3:29 How I build a design system from any video 4:21 Step 3: Direct 5:16 Recap 5:46 One video, one chat 🎥 Clips in the intro, used for commentary: MrBeast (The Joe Rogan Experience #2527), Ted Sarandos (Netflix earnings interview, Jul 2025), Adam Mosseri (Bloomberg Screentime 2025), Casey Neistat, Mark Cuban (The High Performance Podcast), Dario Amodei (World Economic Forum 2026). 🔔 Subscribe, because I'm dropping more skills. AI Maker Residence at KOKO

The third AI workshop taught by our legendary teacher, Nick Sarafa. In one of the last events we did an asset manager raised an additional £25M on their fund within a space of 9 months. This is a full-day hands-on training workshop for purposeful co-creation with AI using Claude Code. Imagine having access to hundreds of billions of dollars of computing power and knowing exactly how to make it work for you through the power of super intelligence. One person did.
