What You Actually Get With the iPhone Duo
I just ordered an iPhone Duo, so I went through Apple's spec sheet live to see what we're actually getting. Battery is up to 24 hours of typical use and 31 hours of video on the inner display, and with a 60 watt USB-C adapter you get 50% in around 20 minutes, so 60 watt is gonna be your friend. Then I asked Claude what the new Apple C2 modem means for us and had it draw out the two kinds of 5G. Millimeter wave is super fast, but you have to literally be in front of the tower, and as soon as you put a wall in the way it's done, so inside your house you're living on sub-6, the steady one. Apple's spec page lists millimeter wave on the US iPhone Duo. I also go over iPhone Handoff, which only T-Mobile supports in the US right now, and the size and weight, and it has Touch ID on the side, since it doesn't have Face ID. iPhone Handoff carrier support is as of October 10, 2026, and Apple says Verizon gets it before the end of 2026. The iPhone Duo model at the end is in Bitrig's simulator. I reached out to Bitrig about a sponsorship, and Bitrig is helping cover events I'm part of, like the AiOS Meetup in San Francisco.
