Can An Open Coding Harness Replace Your $200 Plan

From the creator

OpenCode vs Claude Code: rebuild your $200 coding plan with free harness + pay-per-token Claude via Zen gateway, full cost & capability breakdown. Both OpenCode and Claude Code are free to install, but the $200 Claude Max 20x plan buys flat-rate access to Anthropic's models, something no open harness can supply under Anthropic's terms. On Artificial Analysis's Coding Agent Index v1.5, Claude Code on Fable 5.1 scores 62 and costs $12.39 per task; OpenCode on GLM 5.3 costs $4.24 but scores only 54, losing on all three component benchmarks including Terminal-Bench 4.0 (58% vs 40%). However, the same Claude Code harness running Qwen 3.8 Max drops to $3.49 per task, cheaper than OpenCode, proving the cost tracks the model, not the tool. OpenCode integrates 75+ LLM providers and lets you authenticate ChatGPT Plus, GitHub Copilot, and GitLab Duo with zero setup, but Anthropic explicitly prohibits Claude subscription logins as of version 1.3.0 (published March 2026). Anthropic's Consumer Terms ban "automated or non-human means" to access their services except via API Key. You can buy Claude tokens through OpenCode's own Zen gateway, Opus at $5/$25 per million, Fable at $10/$50, making the math simple: at $10.79 per task (Claude Code on Opus 5), the $200 plan breaks even around 19 tasks monthly. Below that, pay-per-token wins. The free tier on Zen trades your prompts and code to Meta for model training, and no local model appears on any benchmark. For builders weighing switching to OpenCode: you can replace the harness today for nothing and keep using Claude by the token, but you cannot replace Anthropic's flat-rate plan with it, that agreement is written into their terms, not the software. Each video takes one tool, model, or workflow and shows how it works in a few focused minutes, with the real benchmarks and real costs. We go deep on Claude Code and Cursor for AI coding, AI agents and MCP servers, the open-source AI tools and GitHub repos most people miss, RAG and vector search, fine-tuning, and running local LLMs on your own machine with Ollama and LM Studio. We compare models like ChatGPT and Claude, test AI automation with Zapier, Make, and n8n, and flag the tools that actually ship. AI Maker Residence at KOKO

The third AI workshop taught by our legendary teacher, Nick Sarafa. In one of the last events we did an asset manager raised an additional £25M on their fund within a space of 9 months. This is a full-day hands-on training workshop for purposeful co-creation with AI using Claude Code. Imagine having access to hundreds of billions of dollars of computing power and knowing exactly how to make it work for you through the power of super intelligence. One person did.
