I Stopped Using OpenAI's dots After a Week

From the creator

Why did I stop using OpenAI's dots, and what do my Grok Bots actually do all day? I stopped using the dots stuff for now because it was just too much work, and I'll come back to it. When I tried dots from the very beginning I kept hitting so many roadblocks between using it on my phone and on my machine, and it's something I'll follow up on probably like a month from now, because the team is working like crazy to get it off the ground. Meanwhile Grok Bot has been extremely important to me in my life. I have a concierge that finds restaurants I can actually eat at as a person with celiac disease, and Max, my recomposition coach, has been with me from 250 pounds down to about 194. I also show the Tailscale OAuth setup so your bot connects forever, and how I make one Grok Bot the CTO for Ray Transcribes, with my Cursor Project set up to watch production for an hour after a deploy and roll back if anything breaks. dots is OpenAI's always-on agents, out Sep 29, 2026. Grok Bot is the assistant app I run my bots in. AI Maker Residence 4

Your idea can be anything. At our last workshops, people built plant-based nutrition businesses, a way to measure planetary resilience, crochet headwear and a way to connect lonely people living in the same building. This fourth workshop is a full day at KOKO with Nick Sarafa, learning to build with Claude Code. Bring the thing you keep meaning to start. We’ll bring the pizza.
