A Week With the iPhone Duo. Death by Paper Cuts
One week with the iPhone Duo, Apple's first folding iPhone, and it's death by a thousand paper cuts. It feels a little too fragile, mostly because of the hinge, so I keep two hands on it. Apps like Instagram still haven't updated for the big screen, a photo of my driver's license came out blurry in low light, and Touch ID is never where I expect it. Then the folio case showed me a stand mode I didn't know existed: lock the screen and StandBy turns it into a desk display with an e-ink feel. And the hard shell case surprised me. The phone knows the case is attached and offers Shift Left Edge in Display & Brightness, so the keyboard and swipe edges aren't covered anymore. I wasn't expecting to like this case. I close with SayRay, the app I'm building and the whole reason I got the phone: big live text, drag the transcript into Claude, all running on device.
